This is an exciting opportunity for someone with at least 10+ years in the Vehicle Engineering function, you should be responsible to support the UK Programmes work stream in the delivery of HEV and EV features including system and component validation and market support
Responsibilities:
- To design and develop the Instrument Clusters for UK markets including protecting for future legislative requirements.
- Responsible for the HEV and EV electrical system integration and test of EU / UK vehicles.
- Test and validation of the vehicle charging systems in line with vehicle targets.
- Ensuring that the correct test processes are used at the appropriate time.
- Support manufacturing with product launch issues and report status back to project teams.
- Coordinating and assisting in the validation and testing of Electrical System and components on electrical Lab Car.
- Responsible for the control and updates of the electrical engineering vehicle’s fleet for testing, and reporting status back to the department Senior Manager and Vehicle Chief Engineer.
- Provide support to manufacturing with any product launch issues and EU vehicle program delivery.
- Support closure and reporting status of test and build issues to Quality Issue Tracking meetings.

PROFILE (Competencies)
Essential:
- Significant engineering experience, preferably 10 years’ within a Vehicle Engineering function.
- Significant knowledge and experience of vehicle electrical systems and features, especially HEV and EV vehicles.
- A sound electrical specific component and system knowledge with a broad understanding of vehicle integration and the overall vehicle delivery process, or good knowledge of whole vehicle engineering delivery and integration.
- Good understanding in the use of electrical tools including data loggers, CAN network simulation and analysis equipment, and diagnostic tools.
- Good IT skills and experience of appropriate software applications
- An ability to operate across national and cultural boundaries, requiring sensitivity and understanding but on occasions technical leadership in focussed skill areas.
- An understanding of BOM and change management activities and processes.
- Good communication skills at all levels within an engineering function.
- A flexible and committed attitude, and motivated to deliver in difficult, challenging and often changing circumstances.
- Demonstrable understanding and awareness of costs.
- Good organisational & prioritisation skills.
- Knowledge of DFSS at Yellow belt level or above to support investigation and data collection.
Desirable:
- Significant experience in leading technical teams and integrating operational software systems Proven ability to work with stakeholders to formulate and agree systems requirements, and advise customers on systems design
- Should have managed a decent team of developers and testers and provided technical guidance and directions
