We have a fantastic opportunity within the Manufacturing Controls function for a talented “Manufacturing Controls Automotive Technician” to support a small team of engineers!
The role will promote and support the continued development of the Manufacturing Controls Function and you'll be reporting into the Manufacturing Controls Manager and working closely with the current and future vehicle Manufacturing Engineering teams.
Your primary responsibility will involve pre-test inspection, maintenance and repair of all vehicles electrics, as well as performing diagnostic fault analysis on both vehicles and test stands within the manufacturing facilities as faults arise. You'll be expected to work within the production environment, supporting production, but also furthering the development of the Controls function.
To be successful in this role, you should have experience in analysing and interpreting technical electrical diagrams and schematics, as well as knowledge of systems such as powertrain, exhaust system, braking, steering and suspension systems, anti-theft systems, HV systems, batteries, heating/ventilation systems, ignition systems, lighting and wiper systems and transmission systems.
You should be methodical in your approach and have excellent communication, IT and problem-solving skills. Desirable qualifications would include level 2/3 Diploma in Auto Electrical or BTEC ONC/HNC Diploma in Automotive Diagnostics, however, a combination of experience and knowledge may also be accepted. Knowledge of the Softing DTS diagnostics tool would also be beneficial.
