Join PDSL as a Vehicle Configuration And Test System (VCATS) Engineer with Manufacturing Engineering (ME) and help launch new vehicles, excite customers with new features and functions. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with Product Engineering teams, as well as fellow Manufacturing Engineers, ME Facilities teams and Manufacturing IT to design, develop and deploy software and hardware tools. With the support of PDSL, you’ll be rewarded with the challenges of helping to implement the vehicle diagnostic processes into the JLR Trim & Final Assembly lines.

- Requirements implemented into Test System (VCATS) on time, adhering to the best practice definitions
- HPU (Hours Per Unit) reduction opportunities implemented
- Approved and implemented standard processes
- Capital Expenditure (CapEx) reduction opportunities identified & implemented
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Define, create and maintain in the relevant test systems, the key Test Processes standards within the Bill-of-Test framework.
- Validate Test Processes (Test sequences) prior to release to the customer eg Engineering Integration, Delivery Team, T&F Production Line.
- Act as VCATS Subject Matter Expert (SME) for allocated commodities.
- Assess Engineering-defined Manufacturing T&F Configuration and Test Requirements, challenging requirements to ensure they are optimised to achieve the VCATS, Programme & Enterprise targets.
- Participate in VCATS Teams and deployment of test processes and tools into target plants.
- Develop Test Process standards in collaboration with stakeholder teams.
- Collaborate across VCATS Teams to maximise the RFT & DFV in each plant.
- Participate in innovation and projects to develop alternative processes & tools.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and Design principles.
